Scientists take first step to working cloaking device.
Scientists have succeeded in making a cloth that bends microwaves around an object..
Apparently, they hope to eventually create a cloth that can bend other rays on other frequencies as well, including light.

Wow that's interesting. I think there are ethical issues here though, and it's a bit like cloning and genetic engineering in that if it is in the wrong hands it could cause a lot of damage.

Of course the cloaked person/object wouldn't be able to see where they were going or any incoming weapon so I can see severe practical problems with it.
