SIM update
Being non technical and at loose end on a Sunday evening could someone tell me what a "SIM UPDATE" on a mobile phone does. I have just received one and I know I've had them before but what do they actually do ?

They tend to update settings on the phone such as your Voicemail number, the SMS message centre etc.

They can also appear if the phone isn't registered onto the network correctly.

Nothing much to worry about unless you get 4-5 of them a day.

is this three your talking about fireman328 ? i got a sim card through with a letter 'new services' the letter touts, however im using my old one for aslong as i can atleast that works in my 6230i, the new one does not.

I got one on orange this afternoon out of the blue. Hasn't done anything noticable. Maybe theyre introducing some new service.
