DVD problem

My son has a DVD player which is about 3 years old and he has started having problems playing DVDs on it, the older disks play ok but newer ones are either skipping or refusing to play at all.....he says he has seen a program were they said that older DVD players can have problems playing the newer disks and that you can get in touch with the manufacturer to get a update disk.....has any one else heard about this?

Re: DVD problem

Cleaning the lens is worth a try, but also, if it is a DVD drive within a computer, you may be able to flash the drive with the latest firmware.
You would need to see if there is an update for the drive on the manufacturers website and follow instructions.

Perhaps you should meet rich bloke, get engaged and then tell him to buy your son a new one.

no problem, Jules, you're more than welcome, as always.

- the only problem with Aldi is the specials are usually 'when they are gone, they are gone', so get there early
