Playing DVDs on TV via TVout

I have successfully connected the TVout socket from a Laptop to a portable TV set and can see the PC desktop on the TV. However when I run a DVD player such as winDVD (OEM version), all I get on the TV is a blank window even though I can clearly see the DVD playing in the same window on the Laptop.

How do I get round this?

Are you using an Nvidia graphics card?

The graphics card is an ATI Radeon.

Then all I can suggest is have a look at the driver, there will probably be options there for setting up two screens. In the settings for my card I have to set it to "Clone" and make the TV the main screen as the card is only capable of outputting a video image to one or the other. This may apply to your graphics card too

HTH
