Re: ford fiesta l cd player
When i fitted mine, there was no 12v permananent feed, so i had to run this from the battery.
Halfords do fix the whole lot in quite cheaply, it is pribably worth it if there is no block, or not enough speaker cables etc.

Re: ford fiesta l cd player
Don't let Halfords put in or touch anything to do with your car electronics, they are not trained techicians. Finally something I can help on! Car electronics is my hobbie building anything and everything from scratch for car systems.
The fiesta needs the yellow and red wire swapping, I also believe the memory feed which Kenwoods and Pioneers require to work (even though they only supply a backup volatge its semiconductor switched) needs either in some models swapping over or in others re-routing to an alternative perm or switched live.
Hope this helps.

I have edited it slightly, as there were a few errors.
As for the content I see no problems, but maybe you could make me aware. I was only trying to help.

Re: ford fiesta l cd player
There is an inconsistency in the car audio market between the red and yellow feeds and thier pin locations.
Does the stereo work with the engine on? Both feeds will be recieving a supply. If so the red and yellow need swapping round as you kenwood is expecting a cont feed where it is getting the switch feed and vice versa.

one should be a switched live , i.e. only live when the ignition is switched on , the other should be on all the time to preserve the radios memory

Yes but some cars have the red permanent live in say position A on the ISO block and others put it in position B with the switched live in posn A.
GM group are the worst offenders for this, Ford normally are the right way around (these days) but we are talking a 92 Fester, not a current model.
