java browser app for mobile phone?
I have an NEC e313 video phone on the 3 network. The phone supports java applications.
There is always-on internet access on this phone, however, there is no browser installed so I can't surf around and I can only go on the 3 internet portals thing by pressing the 3 button on the handset.
I was thinking, maybe it's possible to install a java app which can browse internet sites, or is there no such application?
Does anybody have a e313 phone and know how to bypass the portal? Or is it not possible?

I think I read somewhere that the '3' portal is one of thw worst things about the '3' service, because you can't get round it. I'm not the expert though, you want Russ D. If you can't find him lurking at Cable Forum, he is often to be found raising hell over here: http://forum.3hell.com/

I did notice your phone wasn't mentioned, but I wasn't sure if the app had to be phone specific or if there was a more generic one ?

Sorry I have given the wrong impression by replying with my phone model in bold, I wasn't replying in a 'didn't you even listen?' way, I was just making sure that people knew my phone model. Thanks for the answer.
(btw, I did mention my phone model lol)

Hehe i think he meant on the Opera site :p Opera is only for smartphones at the moment; which is basically series 60 phones (6600, 3650, simens sx1 etc), Sony-ericsson P*** series, and now mobiles with the windows mobile operating system.
There was a program that took away the 'walled garden' on 3, but that was only for the motorola smart phone. Which i can't remember the name of. I'll be waiting 'til Vodafone and Orange's 3G services become fully up and running.
