Can't get a port open ?

Hi

Been having trouble using voip in yahoo messanger (and other apps too) with my brother in the UK.

I have tracked it down to the port on his machine that the app, yahoo voice, needs 6801 being 'stealthed' (when checked via grc.com) on his machine.

The problem is I can not for the life of me work out why this port is showing as being 'stealthed' on his machine.

His setup is

Pipex ADSL
Draytek Vigor 2600 router
Win XP

I have specificaly opened this port using the drayteks' nat setup - open port feature. Mapping the port (for udp) to the PC's fixed intertnal IP

I have confirmed that he has not got WinXP firewall running.

Have tried with ZA switched off (though I think even with it on it would still show as an 'open' port via grc.com - just wont allow anything through the open port)

So something somewhere is 'stealthing' this port . I just can not work out what is stealthing it.

Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks

Have you tried mapping other ports to see if they work ok ?

No not explicitly. Before I worked out which ports were needed I did try putting the PC's IP add in 'DMZ' and the app still wasn't working. I didn't check ports via grc when I did though, as I hadn't 'got that far' so to speak. Just tried PC in DMZ and no joy

Thanks for suggestion. I will try mapping/opening some other ports on the draytek and see what happens.
