I've been with i-web for a couple of weeks now and so far its been good, its much faster than my other webhost eukhosting.com. The last two weeks haven't been the best time to judge i-web though because of their re-structuring. The i-web servers are located in the US though afaik, think there may be some in Germany but not sure.

With regards to moving to another webhost, it depends what arrangement you have. Did you get the domain name free with your webhost or something or is it with a seperate domain selling company ?
Simply put there is a field in the domain name information that needs to be changed by the current hoster to the new hosters name, e.g it is changed from DEMON to IWEB, then the new host can take it over.

There may be a fee.

I also use 123-reg and you have two options:
Point the 123-reg address to one on IWEB (not recommended as you'll need another registration) or amend the nameservers of your 123-reg domains to point at IWEB nameservers (then wait for the internet to catch up usually within 24 hours but can take 48).

Re: Domain Names

Just been looking at 123-reg site, and am going to register a domain name. Do you have to use their site builder thing though? Or can you do it for free?
