Question Using outlook/sending files

I know you can send a file as an attatchment
using outlook and can make it so it sends, say, 10 o'clock at night after you have
gone home etc

is there any was of sending a file as an attatchment that is not yet there?

sort of sending the file from the target of where it is going to be- if you see what I mean

cheers for any help

I wouldn't have thought so as I believe when you add the attachment it copies it into the mail when you add, if that make sense.

What you'd have to do is find some way of defering and addition of the attachment to the email - till the file is there, and then send it.

You might be able to do this using a macro or something

Re: Using outlook/sending files

Can you not get the creators of the file to email it as part of the creation process, this could be to your home address or forwarded using rules to the home address.

If you are connecting to outlook is it through a VPN or Outlook on the Web? If a VPN then surely you could get to the file on the network, you could add a shortcut to the relevant file, but this would only work on a VPN. [EDIT - just realised your sending this cause you dont have VPN style access - should you be sending it outside the protected network it is created in?]

no - somebody here asked me if it could be done

I thought it could not myself and could not see the point in it
if someone asked me to mail them a file I did not have i would simply say I had not got it yet

I have told them I don't know how to do it just now
but thought i would post a message in case there was something obvious I had missed
