Bit Torrent (again!)
I've just done a reinstall on my PC and I'm not that keen to put Kazza lite back on there, so I thought I'd give another P2P application a go.
I thought I'd go with Azureus, as recommender by Keyzer. I downloaded it and had a mooch about the homepage and goggle, but I think I'm being a little thick, 'cso I still cant work out how to use it.
I know I need to find links/hash files (like edonkey??) but I can't find any info on where, all the links I've found in a search on here have been either out of date or not much help (prolly me being a little ).
So what I'm looking for is a simple FAQ and instructions on how it works, or another suggestions for a P2P program.
Any links/info greatly received

Re: Bit Torrent (again!)
ok go to www.suprnova.org and click on a link to a file you wish to download it will pre create the files on your hard drive so it will take up the space needed on the hard disk in advance
you need to find websites with torrents these are the little files which have 'tracker' ips which will link you to other users
the system works by transfering a piece of a file to multiple ips if you have a peice that is needed by someone it will automatically send it if you need a peice you will get it from others who have it and providing there are people who are 'seeds' the file will complete these people have the file completed and can continue the chain of people getting pieces which others do not yet posess and need to in order to complete there files
this link has more torrent sistes for you

hope this helps

have a go with iMesh instead if you don't like kazaa... got a couple of pop ups but these can easily be killed with the firewall.

Use "clean imesh" (google it) to get rid of the pop ups in Imesh
Anyone know a resoltion to error code 2 on bit torrent, it says the directory c:\myname\temp interent file etc etc does not exist even though it doesn't let me selct where to save it like it has done every other time I used it.

On Imesh if you get a good connection I get to max out my 1meg connection, and this happens a fair bit, so you get a film size file in no time.
DC was too much work for me

Ok I'll help you out and have uploaded it to my web space for you, you need to have the full imesh running and this just removes spyware without messing it up like spybot would. here it is

No problem, been using it myself for about 6 months, it's far quicker than kazza etc, and more reliable also.

I find it a million times better than kazza and also * ratings to show if you are going to need to wait in a Q or not. Each to their own hey.

Re: Bit Torrent (again!)
DC is too much like hard work for me, I want something simple and quick to use, like I said if I want a film from imesh and can pretty max out my connection 60% of the time.
For games I use BT, the choice is good and again easy to find.

too much like hard work how? just done a bit of a test searching for things on both dc++ and imesh as expected dc++ wins every time, while i like the simplicity of programs like imesh etc they just do not give the results of direct connect client like u say it may need a bit of extra work initially but surely the fact that u can 99% of the time find what your looking for is best, when was the last time u tried dc++?
