Re: Outlook express

So they are no longer on the pop server?
Do you have any mail rules running? Some can delete the mail direct from the server.
Do you have any mail virus scanning software running. This results in Outlook making a request to the virus software which in turn makes the request to the pop server, it could be getting lost in the virus software.

Just some more thoughts

Are you getting any error messages from the send/receive?

If not and you have a hotmail or other account try sending a message to yourself that way you will know if the system is working OK or not. Could be as simple as the person sending using a slightly wrong address for you.

I'm getting error messages from Outlook express. I've just installed Incredimail and everything is ok with that. It's a bit to Fisher price looking for me I'd sooner have Outlook.

Enterian is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Outlook express

Sounds like you might need to delete and recreate the mail accounts within Outlook Express. I'm told this is effective when Outlook throws a wobbly.

Re: Outlook express

OK when you set up the hotmail account in outlook make sure you check the box marked Log on using secure password authentication.

Also double check user name is full hotmail address and that the password is correct. (case sensitive btw)

As someone else has already said the easiest way could be to delete then reset the account to make sure everything is correct.

That said a few are still having problems connecting to hotmail simply due to the extra traffic on the system right now. so if it doesnt work right away it could be worth checking same settings a little while later.

EDIT: Also make sure you have the correct setting for NTL mail which doesnt use the secure log in.

Note that hotmail and NTL will each have different settings for incomming and outgoing servers so make sure those are all correct too.

You appear to be using an anti-virus product which is standing between Outlook Express and your POP3 server. The AV product might be causing these problems. Try disabling it, restarting, and try Outlook Express again.
