Mozilla - Mail & Newsgroups
Hi all, i was just wondering can i somehow disable the email client in Mozilla? The reason being is that everytime i want to send an email and i click on that email link it comes up with the Mozilla email client. I use Outlook Express as my defult mail client and i want to stay using it as well. Is there any way to stop Mozilla thinking that i use its own mail client, when in fact i use OE.
Cheers
WNA

Hi
in OE it would be 'tools' then 'internet options' then 'programs' tab, drop down the 'E-mail' list & set outlook express as the client, click 'apply' - re-boot - you need to do the equivalent in Mozilla.

I know
- but I don't run Mozilla, so I can't be more specific, there must be a similar 'internet properties' option in there, though?
- why don't you like the Mozilla e-mail client?

Maybe you can uninstall the email client from the Add/Remove programs dialog? If you can't, I don't think you can disable it within Mozilla.
Now, if I remember correctly, Mozilla will always use it's own email client if it is available, regardless of the default email client setting. Firebird doesn't have this problem (or a built in email client for that matter). So, you may be better of using Firebird.

Re: Mozilla - Mail & Newsgroups
Yes, use Mozilla Firebird. Mozilla (the suite) should only be used if you want to use all of it's components.
