Getting people to use my site!
As per subject!
What's the best way to attract poeple to come to your site?
So far - I only have a handful of users...would like to kick it into gear with a few more!
Cheers

Good quality content tends to help.

Re: Getting people to use my site!
Could join a few other forum and keep it in your sig, newsgroups are good for generating traffic but mainly you will need to get some linkage going from other sites etc.

Re: Getting people to use my site!
As someone said before get some content.
You have what - 6 downloads and 6 articles? Not really in line with your tag line...

If you could answer this question definitively then you could make a lot of money!!
Getting visitors onto peoples websites and gaining high up positions on search engines is a tricky business. The general rule of thumb at the moment seems to be to get as many relevant sites to link to you and you to them. Look for similar types of sites (computer type sites in your case) and see if they do link exchanges.
Forums as suggested are a good way to links back to you.
Good luck!!

Re: Getting people to use my site!
Have you submit the site to the various search engines, theres nothing nicer than the patter of tiny spider feet

But your site is called tools4windows. You have from what I can see, 6 tools to be downloaded?
Its good trying to generate traffic but if there is no content they aren't going to come back.

Re: Getting people to use my site!
Content is king, when I worked at Freeserve I set up a forum/ webs site to provide information to Freeserve users (it's since expired as it was only useful if kept upto date).
I loaded all of the installation tech and downloads together with all of the un authorised fix's to problems. I had links to avg and spyware removers and without listing it on search engines was soon placed higher for searchs than Freeserve and the modem manufacturers.
Content is is king (worth saying twice) , as is making sure its updated. If Google see's fresh content and new links to your site every week it ranks it higher. Stay clear of flashy flash and go for lots of text. Once Google loves you site many hits will come.

Point taken on board!
The site is not that old and I've not really had time to get a load of stuff on there....
I will get some more tools on there asap.
I've also signed up for some Google Adsense so hopefully that'll generate some hits...
