Cool Mailing Lists (Free Simple Script) ? Any Advice

Hi...

I am looking for 1 of 2 options.... I need a way to add users (email address) to a Text File & then every month or so send out a email (Text or HTML) not to fussed... I had a good one that was MySQL driven & after I-Web was reset a few months ago I lost 300+ email addresses. So I rather Text File driven that I upload every few days, at least I keep a Text File on my PC & backup. As I cant save MySQL daily...

1) Free PHP type script that will read a Text File & send a email out (SMTP or other) The only thing I worry is that PHP email some email servers (Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail) may put them in Trash without the user knowing...

I did see this Link HERE but not 100% sure?

2) A free eMail client that reads a Text File for Address Book & will allow me to mail my News List...... I dont want Outlook or that sort of Client, I need a Text based Address Book for easy backup & adding to daily/weekly

This is 100% Legit & not SPAM. I want to build up a News Letter for a new site I am running.... The user will email me at join@url.com & i will add him to list (or remove if requested)

Can't say I know a mailing list script that stores addresses as a flat file, but if you're looking for a simple way to automatically backup MySQL databses try this: http://www.valcatohosting.com/docume...utomaticbackup

I would personally stick with your mysql implementation much easier to administer, and a large text file wont be very quick to process on a web server.

MySQL Administrator is free and will automatically do the backup for you and it has a nice GUI for backup and restore.
