Test Your Pop-up Blocker

I found this interesting test via dslreports forums. It tests how efficient your browsers pop-up blocker is. I use Opera, see how yours performs.

As instructed on the website, the most difficult tests are in Bold.

11) Passed
12) Failed
13) Passed *
16) Did not complete (displayed a blank page for some unknown reason)
17) Passed
21) Failed (received an "add bookmark" pop-up)
22) Failed (received a "download file" pop-up)
25) Passed *
26) Passed
27) Passed

All the other tests passed successfully.

* I use a script blocker, used to block ads that use a script to launch them. Works well, but can also block some content on websites.

See how well yours does, it will be interesting to see which browsers built in pop-up blockers perform the best.

Re: Test Your Pop-up Blocker

It failed the Java pop-up and the media player pop-up. Not bad for Opera 9's "Block unwanted popups" which is built in

Re: Test Your Pop-up Blocker

16 blank white page
21 failed, got bookmark window.
22 failed, got download file option to open or save file.

Maybe with a few tweaks of opera and admuncher things could be more secure?

EDIT: But then again, I have the final say of whether I want to add the bookmark or download the media file. Which I wouldnt do if this popped up at random.
