Stick with Outlook, it has more features and Thunderbird is very different. Stick with what you are used to.

Its all a matter of taste, give it a go! You can always uninstall and go back to using Outlook!

Thunderbird should really be compared to Outlook Express, not Outlook.

If you want a calendar, you have to get Mozilla Sunbird, which can integrate with Thunderbird.

Also no Exchange.

I like Thunderbird. The junk filter is really good.

I only installed it after OE decided to retire on my PC, but it works and no regrets with it.

Re: MS Outlook or Thunderbird

Outlook is the best for me - it has all the calendaring, email and contact management features all in one place. Plus it's not too bad on the eye when compared with Thunderbird (I think TB looks a bit bare for my liking).

If you stick the SpamBayes plugin into Outlook then that's most spam killed straight away - at least that's what it was in my case.

Re: MS Outlook or Thunderbird

Personally I find OE better than Outlook and Thunderbird. How can it be better than Outlook you say? Well I can't remember why but I know there is a massive reason why.

I'm a Thunderbird person. It's always been faster and crashes on me less too.

Me too. The only real reason I'd consider switching to Outlook, (and Tbird for Windows) is the minimize to tray option

Re: MS Outlook or Thunderbird

Thunderbird here, Outlook was always too buggy for me - not very customisable, Favourite Folders being a prime example - you cant get rid of it and its a frikkin waste of space if you have a lot of sub folders and what about that bloody preview pane that has to be switched off for EVERY god damn sub folder too.

Not to mention Outlook used to duplicate my mails so i would have two copies of everything.

In the end i gave up, started using Thunderbird and never looked back.

Outlook express, dont even go there, its a secuity nightmare waiting to happen.
