Ok convince me
Ive been using Firefox for a while, but am now looking at Opera. What i want to know is (and please dont argue), what are the key features that Opera has that Firefox doesnt and also why is it better than firefox?

Re: Ok convince me
You know - and this may sound patronising - but hey thats what i do - why dont you just download it and give it a bash.
You can use both on the same system, both are free and it would save us all a lot of hasstle, at the end of the day only you can decide if you like it better.
Persoanlly, i used it - and removed it - and stuck with the Fox, but thats me.

Re: Ok convince me
Install Opera public beta 2. Don't be put off from the interface when you first load it up as it's easily customisable to make it look like any other browser.
Opera public beta 2

Re: Ok convince me
Opera beta 2 is good but I have found that on some speed tests it has problems and produces slower speeds so I always use FF for the speed tests.
Some website load quicker in Opera infact I use Opera more than FF now but will kee FF updated and ready to use.

What a pile of rubbish. No homepage button, the Nthellworld frontpage was all over the place and I couldn't post - Opera just hung there for ages.
*off to delete it from my system.

Re: Ok convince me
Stick with FireFox, the CF menu only works with FireFox plus FireFox rocks.

Re: Ok convince me
There is a homepage button, it pops up when you click the address bar, but like i said, if you want to make it look like other browsers you can. My layout is kind of how firefox looks.

But I don't want a 'pop up' homepage button, I want it to be nice and conveniently 'there' when I need it.
Sorry but no-one has managed to sell Opera on me yet.

I used to use Firefox but after switching to Opera i realised just how painfully slow firefox's rendering is and that's what i hate. But if i can't use Opera for a certain webpage then i'd use Firefox over IE anyday.

I turned off the popup homepage button right away then made my layout to look like Firefox.
What's the homepage for ntlhellworld as i think my Opera works with it?
And to the other post the CF menues work fine in Opera.

Good for you - but I like a browser where the homepage button is right there in front of you, I cannot understand why developers like to make it awkward for people especially when they're desperately trying to win a greater market-share.
