asp2k6 is an unknown quantity at this point
Question help

okay ive got newshostings unlimted and using newsbin pro but im getting like 270 kbps max, ive got 10mb and just wondered if ports needed configuring to get the best out the service

Not really, you can try changing the port from 119 to 8000 or 9000 see if that makes a difference? I also use my NTL news server for added boost.

Have you been on the 10mb for long?

10 mb nearly a week now i was downloding something earlier and the highest speed i was getting was 300kbps, not to be fussy i was expecting a better speed really, especially with 10mb.

ive got newsbin pro, a linkys router and unlimted newshosting if that helps any suggestions

take the router out of the equation, use a direct connection to your pc, then try the following speed tests:

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp

results will vary, but usally the first two are spot on, also what modem do you have ?

with or without the router i get speeds of over 1000kbps and i have the silver modem sorry thats not much help.
