Any one got any ideas why the I-Web Solutions site is down.

I know they had some planned Maintenance but they said Tue/wed

The rack in which the servers resides has lost power
Engineers are currently running around with fuse wire, nails and paper clips

Although this is not the place to do any support replies as our main site is also affected i will inform you on any updates that we may have.
It appears that the rack that houses our servers has lost the power at the moment the techs from redbus are working towards a resolution and also there are level3 techs from maidenhead are on their way now to investigate and repair.
will update you as and when we have any more news.

OK, just to update....

UK2 has come back online, after the power was fixed. However UK1 was just coming online as the power breaker tripped, as a result the hard disc appears to have become corrupted, the onsite techs have been unable to recover it using fsck. Unfortunately the only option left is to wipe the primary drive and restore the daily backups held on the secondary hard disk.

The techs on tonight are not specialised to do this sort of thing, and as such the server cant be benched until tomorrow morning. I will arrange for a forum to be configured on our www.i-websolutions.info page for discussion and news on the situation.

I dont anticipate the server being up and fully functioning (all sites restored etc) until after lunch (trying to give some leeway).... the DNS is clustered, and therefore will call the DNS from UK2 which will restore any custom DNS entries etc. All files are backed up daily, and therefore we will restore the latest backup we have.

We appologise for the inconvenience caused, and urge discussions to be held on our www.i-websolutions.info forum when it becomes available later this morning.

Why did it have to happen today? I'm out all day at a seminar and wont be able to restore my customer's configuration, which will surely be lost, until later on this evening.

Any update guys - both my domains are missing, and the i-web domain is just a directory listing

Also my Cpanel seems to have been borked - I assume it is all related...

yes.

They had a disk crash and they thought they had backups of data.
It seems however they only have backups from 26th feb.

I'm also waiting for a domain to appear.

apparently not.

They said they have been getting completed backup emails but when they checked it had been lying.
