You can have tabbed browsing in IE6 using the MSN toolbar. See link: http://toolbar.msn.com/

IE6 and a hosts file. Job done... I don't like the look and feel of FF much. Plus, when I last looked at it, it wasn't very succesful at blocking flash adds, which my hosts file is. But perhaps this has changed/I overlooked something.

Adblock plus seems to work fine for me with flash adverts...

Re: Internet Explorer or Firefox
Its a personal thing Flash stuff, i use Flashblock as well as adblock.
All Flahblock does is stop flash playing until you hit the play button that Flashblock replaces Adverts or any Flash stuff with.
This means that i have control over the flash object irrespective of what it is.

Re: Internet Explorer or Firefox
Well, if you choose to use a browser that disables everything to claim its secure and then have more vulnerabilities found in a period versus IE, then thats your choice.

I tried flashblock years ago and I found it to be the most annoying thing going.
I remember one site, I had to click on at least 20 "play" for the page to load...if I remember correctly, it didn't tell you what it was, so you could click on an advert anyway...there was no way to say "allow this site always"...and on another site, if you clicked on a link, you had to do it all again. Like I said this was a few years ago, so it's probably changed (hopefully) anyway...
With adblock, you may get it first time, but never again, especially if you use the wildcard "*".

It's improved since then, i used it late last year, worked well. I then uninstaled firefox and re-installed it (had a few problems)

How has it improved? Have any of those niggles been addressed?

Re: Internet Explorer or Firefox
Installed IE7 today but it has one great big bug so I am trying Firefox.
The "Home" button (I use all the time) is on the right in IE7 and I just can't get used to it.
Unfortunately, Firefox doesn't have close buttons on the tabs so I am right-clicking a lot.

If you mean on each individual tab, try Tab Mix Plus. That gives the close button on each tab
