Google News???

Hi,

Don't know if this is possibile?

Is it possible to get Google News to automatically post a new news entry about a specific subject direct into a forum thread?

How would I go about doing this?

I am not quite sure what you are aiming for here, i don't think i understand what you mean.

Are you talking about using an RSS feed direct into a forum, and then everytime a news item about something appears, a new thread is created?

I can see how it might be possible, but certainly doesn't sound easy.

Also, why would you want to do this....?

Yep - thats about the bottom line of it...not sure if it warrants a RSS feed - but if thats the way to do it then so be it...

Its possible. Would require you to use RSS and to modify the forum a bit. Which I imagine (depending on the forum) would require you do know some PHP. Although it is highly likely a script for this has been done.

Bear in mind that you may get some news storys unrelated appear. I.E If i was doing this for Apple i may get storys about the fruit or chris martins werid taste in baby names.

Also too narrow would result is storys getting missed out

Definitely can be done with RSS, and of course with a modification to some PHP pages. I rmemeber an old forum doing this, with a pre-built script, i think it was on vBulliten too, if this helps.
