Paypal Adding funds
Hi all

I need to pay for something via paypal (ebay item) and noticed it takes 7 days to add funds to my paypal account. I read somewhere that if funds are not it your paypal account (Balance £25 item £90) paypal will take the funds direct from my bank account. Is this correct and what are the charges or is there any other way of doing it ????

From memory, in my case Paypal just take any required funds from my credit card - seems to work instantly. Maybe it's different with bank accounts though? I'm certain there are no fees when you pay with Paypal, only when you receive money... and then they are IMO excessive.

Having a bit of a downer on Paypal at the moment though, as they dealt with an issue very badly, again IMO. But that's a different matter.

No need to wait 7 days. You'd may as well send a cheque in that case.
Paypal is meant to be fast so you can pay instantly.
Just pay for your items by giving your debit or credit card to paypal. The amount then comes straight out your account and pays the seller straight away.

If you dont want your credit card on there afterwards, then just delete the card from the account.

from memory, paypal take funds from your bank account 1st, credit card second, which is why I cancelled the direct debit

It's much easier to get your cash back if a transaction turns sour, from your CC company than it is from PP

I have a bank and card added to paypal, if needed it takes funds from the card rather then the bank.

Ultimately you control your paypal account if you dont want funds to be used from your bank or card then dont spend money you dont have.

That was my gripe with Paypal... unfortunately they were going to take funds FROM my account, over a spurious dispute
