irritating firefox problem

Hiya

Right, I have a clean installation of Firefox 1.5 from there own site, no add-ons or tweaks what so ever.

But when I goto post on this forum or others I am a member off and click in the box where I am typing this post now, or in quick reply, the select cursor which blinks for the text will not select. I have to click on a smiley and then delete it to get access to the text box.

I have cleared cookies and tried a few settings out but got nothing for this.

While I have a method around it, this is very irritating so does anyone have solution please?

Re: irritating firefox problem

Not sure, but it sounds like a focus problem.

in your address bar, type in about:config and then in the filter search area, type in focus, see if yours is the same as mine?

Re: irritating firefox problem

Yip it's the same as you have there Ikthius. However I agree it could be down to my mouse ( logitech g5 ) of which I had has issues getting drivers on...curious how it only affects Firefox though.

When you say clean install, Saxo, did you uninstall whatever version of Firefox you were using before and delete the Firefox folder in Program Files before installing 1.5?

Of course, if you didn't have Firefox installed previously that doesn't matter... ;-)

I don't get popups from FF, I do from IE. The security is far superior and the interface is more user friendly.

How do I get it to detect DAP, it does not seem to recognise it?

Well, a possible answer to that is in the other thread that you resurrected with the same question.

Re: irritating firefox problem

Toom, if you have a problem with Firefox, please do not hijack other people's threads, or spam the forum with it. Start your own thread.
