Msn Messenger and Hotmail not working
For some reason, none of the computers on my home network can now access Hotmail, nor can they connect to Messenger. It's the same on two different versions of messenger, and two different browsers so it's not a machine set up issue. It must be something to do with the connection or router set up, but I don't know what. Troubleshooter gives me the attached error.
I'm on a BT Broadband connection, through one of their 2wire 1800HG modem/routers.
Please help!
Oh, and the connection to certain other sites seems a bit flaky too.

Messenger and hotmail use a wide spread of ports so I'm suprised if it's a router setup problem. Have you got a firewall running and have you fully checked all the settings for things blocked/ stopped/ disabled?
Also have you tried rebooting the router?

I had exactly the same problem in the week where i could not access Hotmail, Messenger or any other secure sites such as Ebay.
In Tools>Internet Options>Advanced I had to re-check use SSL2, SSL3 and TLS 1 to get it working again. How they became un-checked I don't know.

More likely to be a slight corruption in the registry than a virus
