Ryanair spam

Somehow I ended up on Ryanair's spam list (I don't recall subscribing to it).

At the bottom of their 2weekly email, there is an unsubscribe button. I have unsubscribed three times now, and each time get an email saying I have been unsubscribed. Two weeks later I get new spam... I know, it's not a major thing, but it is bloody annoying...

Anyone had this/any ideas on how to stop it? I had a look on their site, and the only contacts I can find are premium rate telephone numbers. I suppose I could block their emails, but I'm a little hesitant about that as I may need to fly with them in the future.

Re: Ryanair spam

Is it acually from Ryanair? try there website and see another phone number, i would have thought they would have a cheaper phone number.

I has a email from my bank but the link inclosed was not from my bank. as it turned out it was a phishing attempt, and the site was soon closed down.

Yes, it is from Ryanair allright (ip address checks out). It's bloody annoying to receive spam from a 'reputable' company, and there being no way you can contact them...

I can't even find a contact email address for them...

How about trying leave-customers@ryanairmail.com ?

I am having the very same problem with John Lewis. I very stupidly put my email address on their website in some communication and bang - I get lots of spam from them every week or so advertising crap. I've emailed their unsubscribe address with the code and yet I still receive their unwanted mail. I've written emails to that address clearly asking to be removed, and still they remain ignored. I've even emailed abuse@ requesting to be removed and got no reply, and neither was my email address removed.

I'm not too bothered since this address is one I intend to ditch in the long term, however it'll serve as a lesson not to give my email address to John Lewis in future.

I'll give that a go, but the normal unsubscribe method is a blank email to leave-customers-<insert-your-code-here>@ryanair.com. I tried that 3 times, without any luck, so I'm not holding my breath

Incidentally, in my experience the travel business is one of the worst legitimate businesses when it comes to being put on their mailing list without opting in. Book a hotel for one night and apparently they feel they've got the right to bombard you with weekend break emails with faulty unsubscribe options (and no regular contact) Idiots...

Re: Ryanair spam

The best thing to do next time you are ask to supply an email address is to give them your junk email address ie yourinitials.mailing@isp.com

I use this format when I have to give an email address in some sites

Hang on, I booked a flight through them, so I do want the confirmation email (just so I turn up at the airport at the right time).

What ****es me of is them deciding I want to receive further emails from them. Then, their unsubscribe option doesn't work, and I can't find any contact info for them other than premium rate phone numbers... How is someone supposed to unsubscribe from this?
