Blocking msn / wms from 1 account
Hi all, I need to be able to stop MSN & WMS from being accessed from the kids accounts, ( long story, lets just say it's punishment ) I would take it all off completely but I use it myself, I know there must be a way but googling and searching through the help files have yeilded zip.
Using XP Pro..... thanks for all help

I thought there were individual user accounts in Windows XP. Can't you control what applications those accounts have access to?

Re: Blocking msn / wms from 1 account
If you change the accounts from administrator to normal user accounts. Then remove msn from your machine and re add it back in It should ask do you want all accounts to have access it or just the one. Since they are not admins they will not be able to install software on their profiles.

Sounds like a solution to me
Bit of a hassle though - why do you have to remove and reinstall in order to gain the ability to choose whether it's available to user accounts?

I'm sure it didn't ask me the last time I re-installed, I'll do it now and post back..fingers crossed
And yeah, I would have thought that xp pro would have had an option to allow program access for different users, it has to a point but can't see msn or similar

If your kids accounts aren't admin accounts you could try removing their access to the folder where the MSN program files live.

Re: Blocking msn / wms from 1 account
Sorry, I can't help it ...
Mac OSX allows this very easily. I can access the settings for my son's login at any time and add or remove whichever apps I choose.
