hi all i keep getting that i have been on a site for weeks know but when i went to it last night i got same as above i can get into writers world but when i want writers world index it wont let me in

Two things here, Brenda - first, it's a good idea to post a link when you're talking about a site you're having trouble reaching, and secondly, it's also a good idea to let people know what type of connection you're on (cable/ADSL/dialup etc) and what ISP you're with.

A common reason for ntl users being unable to access sites is because the proxy server ntl has assigned them to is dodgy. If this is the case, you need a short explanation of what proxies are and how to specify a different one - for the moment I'll just say that you can find that information in the Cable Forum Proxy Server Information articles.

Ok, Brenda - I can access that link no problem, and I'm also on ntl cable broadband. Is that link actually what you can't access, or is it the 'writersworld Forum Index' link in the top left corner of that page?

If it's the 'writersworld Forum Index' link you can't access, try holding your cursor over it. You may see the address the link points to in the bottom bar of your browser - you'll notice if you can see the address that it's the same as the page you're on. So clicking it just reloads the page.

If it's the link you posted that you can't access, you likely have a problem proxy. Either have a look at the collection of articles I linked to in my previous post, and/or let us know and someone will walk you through setting a proxy.
