If like me Google is your friend then you might be interested to know there is a new Beta version of the IE google toolbar available.

This would be why I use Copernic Agent for my searches and sweep my system for spyware weekly using lavasoft's ad-aware

you don't have to install the 'full' version, with spyware. The workings of the 'full' versus 'lite' versions are explained before install and you can choose. No personal info (they say) is sent to google, just behaviour patterns.

Or just read the attached, which does say most of what the article says, and is displayed when you install google toolbar.

I don't really find it useful as most of my searches are UK searches and the toolbar default is not UK.

But you can change it to google.co.u in the settings.

It has a really useful function....if you type a word/words into the search box then you get a small icon/icons appear in the google taskbar, along with the word(s) you typed. Click the icon and it will find all the occurrences of that word on the page you are looking at. Excellent for when your search has returned a huge long page with lots of info and what you want is buried in it somewhere

Personally I feel the small amount of statistical info they take is worth it for the use I get from it, its one of the most used programs on my p.c.

It cant be that much of a problem, or ad-aware and spy-bot would spit it out and both of them seem fine.

Edit- my crap spelling
