Re: Windows Live Messenger
Are you absolutely certain it came from M$ ?
Sounds dodgy to me (although I like jumping to hasty conclusions)

Re: Windows Live Messenger
If you use it give it a go, you could end up testing other new products

It's possible. If you are a registered Beta Tester (as I am), Microsoft DO occasionally email you invites to other beta programmes.
However, AFAIK, they aren't in the habit of emailing people who haven't beta tested for them before.

Re: Windows Live Messenger
I got an email from M$ about live mail, having never signed up for beta and that turned out to be ok, I cancelled it though cause it seemed to like to hide my mail from me.

Re: Windows Live Messenger
A lot of eye candy but I think a lot of the difference are background things that wouldn't really be that noticeable.

Re: Windows Live Messenger
Agreed all it is, is bloatware, vista is aiming more and more that way in its adverts "glass" effects etc, nowt wrong is Windows 2000's layout simple and to the point, or do alot of people sit there glaring at there desktops..
