Port 9000 security
I use port 9000 for my internet radio broadcasts, my question is how secure is my machine whilst this port is open/broadcasting?

Re: Port 9000 security
Not sure I follow your question, are you connecting to other machines on 9000 to listen to radio, or are you allowing others to connect to you on port 9000 to listen to something you are "transmitting".

Re: Port 9000 security
Then its as secure as the application that you use to do the transmitting, but I seriously doubt there are any exploits for whatever it is you use.

Re: Port 9000 security
According to www.securiteam.com there are 10 exploits known for Shoutcast, with the most recent dating back to December 2004. If you're patched to the hills, I'd imagine you're pretty safe.
As always, it's not a particular port that is more or less secure than another port, but what you are using that port for, ie the application running on that port.
