Re: Student's cash-raising net scheme
Just goes to show that people will buy anything and well done to Alex for finding just the right thing to sell (no wonder he is studying Business Management at uni)

Re: Student's cash-raising net scheme
I read about this on The Reg a few weeks ago and something I didn't get then and still don't get now is why ordinary people would visit his site if all it contains is adverts? I don't mind seeing adverts on a website that has content I wish to read, in the same way that I don't mind adverts on tv in between programs that I want to watch. However, I don't sit watching adverts all day long, and similarly, I wouldn't browse a website that only has advertising and no other content on it.
Fair play to this person for finding a way to make money without having to flip burgers or stock supermarket shelves... I just don't see how it became successful

Re: Student's cash-raising net scheme
I am suprised its worked, but that's probably why he is rich and I am not.
Looks like he has made $121,500 from it (£68k), so already he is laughing.

Re: Student's cash-raising net scheme
I'm suprised he's made so much money !!!
His website isnt very inviting. I know if I arrived on apage full of adverts, Im not going to be sticking around for long.
I wish I had his money though.

Since you posting that he's now at $134,300 thats £75,651. So basically he's 'earned' 7 grand in 3 hours

Re: Student's cash-raising net scheme
With sites like El Reg and forums like us giving him more more and publicity then number of people visiting the site wont slow down any time soon either. Thus it's probably still a good bet for some businesses to advertise there.
Fair play and good luck to him for doing it I say.
