Re: speedtest to try
Hey, hey, I have a 102MB a day cap to think of!!
Anyway, it was a steady 115KB/s over my 1Mbps NTL connection, so that's 7 minutes 14 seconds.

Re: speedtest to try
I think 50MB is a bit excessive for a test ! and what are you trying to prove this time ?

Re: speedtest to try
Paul it is an external speed test on a port that cant be cached by the proxies so I am seeing if slow speed is my connection or if others on ntl have the same problem, by moving this thread the only thing that you are doing is showing that you want to censor this kind of test for some reason, would it be better if I posted a smaller file around 5 meg?

You do talk utter rubbish
Why on earth would I/we want to censor it (besides which it would just get removed if this were the case). It's a speed test to a site in the US for anyone to post results for you - it is not an ntl broadband problem.

You might get more people to try it if you did.

Re: speedtest to try
Chrysalis, a smaller file might be better.
I am on NTL, and using Getright (I couldn't get the file at all using Opera or IE), I got 250 K a sec.

right hand click on the link and then click on 'save target as' and save to drive C - it then brings up a dialog box telling you speed etc.
