Where's my javascript gone?
hello, i'm back looking for more help! when i try to get on certain sites i get the message java not enabled, i have tried to download it but it fails and my internet settings seem fine. help????

Presumably you are downloading one of these files:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
If the online installation falls over, try the offline one, offline is often much more robust.

i'm getting the message the installation package could not be opened. verify that the package exists and that you can access it. or contact the applications vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. this comes up once i've downloaded it and try to install

If in doubt, go into windows safe mode, check in control panel and delete any existing java program. make sure you clear out any folder in C:\program files, related to it after the uninstall.
Reboot the PC, then try a new installation.

java or javascript
if javascript just look in your browser for the option to allow it.
if java, go to java.sun.com then download the JRE not unless you plan to code then you would download the JDK
