A couple of questions about Opera 8
I have decided to give Opera a chance, now that I have gotten rid of those annoying ads.
First of all...
I normally use the full screen and on Firefox and IE, you have the toolbars on autohide (it appears when you move the cursor near it), yet on Opera, it does not seem to do this.
Anyone know if it can do this and if so, how to set it?
Second...
Does Opera have a version of extensions, like FF? It's just that I want an adblock and I was wondering if the was something like this for Opera.

You can use F11 to switch full screen on and off. Adblocking is built into Opera as far as I was aware.

Yeah, I know, that wasn't really my question. It's just that, unlike firefox and IE, there is no toolbar and I wanted to know if there was a way to set that.
Pop-up ads yes, but where is the adblocker, (to block the banners, like the google ones at the top of this page)

An alternative way of blocking ads is to use the Windows hosts file. This way, ad blocking measures don't have to be done 'per browser'. The one file works with all of them. Use of the hosts file also helps to block various sorts of malware.

So there's no way to get the main upper toolbar then, just the sidepanel? So I would have to use the right click for back/home etc and alt-f4?
Also an interesting effect that I noticed...
I swear that I did not do anything, other than press f12 to go full screen...

Re: A couple of questions about Opera 8
Hi alot fo adblock apps dont tend to work proerly with opera, proximitron for me only worked in IE. But I use admuncher and I like it a lot, it isnt free tho but you can trial it for 30 days.
If you use a hosts file it is effective but will slow down your dns lookups since you are looking up in a large file before you check dns servers.
Another option is here.

Sorry F4 only autohides the side panels. AFAIK there is no autohide for full screen, although I'm looking around their forum to find a solution.
F12 toggles the quick preferences menu, I think you might have entered editor mode. To go to full screen use F11.
There are also keyboard shortcuts for toggling some bars on and off. These are:
Toggle scroll bars: Ctrl+F7
Toggle address bar: Ctrl+F8
Toggle main menu: Ctrl+F11
These would give you more screen real estate.
There is also loads of tips and buttons on that http://nontroppo.org/wiki/Opera site.

Can't say I'd noticed m8 but thx anyways
Incidentally, Opera is *incredibly* versatile and customisable .. check out their forum and the wiki sites (links in my post above). There seems no end to what it can do and how it can look.
PS: You might fin a button to do what you want on that 'wiki' site:
Scroll down to 'Customisation', click 'Custom Buttons' link, follow the 'Fullscreen' link to find a button for your needs (they drag and drop to your menu bar).

From the forum, I found this, where I can make my own buttons.
So now I can go into fullscreen and have the page and address bars enabled in one stroke. Unfortunately, it still will not hide when not needed.
Better than nothing though.
Thanks for your help
