Setting up a VPN

I wonder if anyone can help me.

Im not technically minded and have heard that using a VPN can help with security online.

What im wondering is, is it possible to set a VPN using just one PC onto the internet?

If so how hard is it and can anyone help me set it up.

Thanks
Alan

Re: Setting up a VPN

Check out this Wiki to understand what a VPN is designed to do.

It permits secure communication between computers, generally as part of a corporate network split across many sites, but is not an internet security product per-se.

Re: Setting up a VPN

A VPN isn't what you want.
What security are you looking for?
If browsing then you may consider a proxy service.
http://www.zuntro.com/ or maybe TOR (Google it)
None will apply if we are talking about Internet Banking.
