Sloppy journalism of the Daily Mail variety - I would have thought better of C4 News...

Re: What the......

emmmmm...why do you think they gave us the internet.....we probably keep monitoring from the big brothers any way long time ago
Now if they allow and others organisations to keep our data by time not good...this is a small thing
At the end they will know or monitor everything we do even from a mobile phone, maybe a tv so is not surprise to me (of course i dont like it but is nothing we can do)
Here skype maybe yahoo etc are monitor some chats (for security reason)
Check policy's
Tell me silly but or keep internet or not using it and if we complain to stop they will do it behind us

Moved. This is not just VM Internet affected, but everyone in the UK if this ill thought out type of legislation is enacted.

As the article quite rightly states, if somehow they have to be able to monitor all communications, ignoring the privacy concerns many will have, there will need to be all sorts of extra kit added by ISPs in their data centres through which everything get scanned and routed. We were concerned about Phorm just for privacy. But this would need similar Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) stuff. It might not slow up your browsing, noticeably, but for those of us who choose fast broadband for gaming and suchlike there will be an impact as each part of your internet traffic is scanned and logged
