Suitably impressed so far, even got the Debian/Ubuntu Spotify Preview running by adding the repository

I used to distro hop a lot when I started fiddling with Linux a few years ago, but I've stuck with Linux Mint for last few releases. I usually stick with the main one, the KDE, LXDE, and Debian implementations are good, but main is where the focus is, so works the best IMHO.
Cinnamon works well in latest Mint.

Which ironically didn't work on either of the touchscreen devices I tried. A Samsung q1u and a HP touchsmart AIO.

Metro style interface? Do you mean Unity?
Only read about it, and seen screenshots. My server runs headless, so no need for a GUI at all. My laptop still runs 9.04*ahem*
