Can You break the code?

http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/

You might even get a job if you can sus it out. Apparently it's something to do with GCHQ according to the BBC

Me, I have no idea.

Re: Can You break the code?

Due to the repetition of certain characters one after the other 0x00 & 0x41, it's unlikely to be an encryption algorithm like DES. I had a quick look and think it maybe some form of XOR mask. Possibly a rotational or substitution cipher.

Since I already have a job in IT, i'll stick to the Times Killer Sudkos for now.

Easy peasy!

The money isn't great at £31,152 though.

68000 assembly language opcodes and registers? Someone put me out of my misery.

Re: Can You break the code?

It' s a little worrying that you get to help 'protect our nation's security and the lives of thousands'. Who are these 'thousands' whose lives get protected, and how are they chosen? Why aren't the lives of the other 60 million odd of us protected?

Re: Can You break the code?

Hmm! Getting the answer is sometimes what these guys want. Can you be sneaky enough to get to the solution without lots of work?

I'd put in 2 got it pages, one for people who do get the correct answer and hit the solution page by entering the solution which I'd alter for each attempt. This would get "offers" to work in one department.

The 2nd would be for the "cheats". This would get offer to work in "another" department.
