The beginning of the end for Flash?
Adobe is shedding 750 staff (7% of its global workforce) amid rumours it is halting development of Flash player on mobile devices.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15648899
Quote:
Tech website ZDNet said it had seen an email briefing sent by Adobe to its partners.
"We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version of device configurations," it read.
"Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations. We will continue to support the current Android and Playbook configurations with critical bug fixes and security updates."
The report said the firm would now focus on the alternative HTML5 technology and its own AIR product.

Re: The beginning of the end for Flash?
The continuation of the end for Flash. It had it's hits when Apple turned it down for iPhone and more significantly iPad and got another blow when Microsoft did likewise. Good riddance to the battery hog, on my Macbook Pro under Bootcamp whenever a flash video starts player the fan kicks in.
