Victim of keylogging

I'm usually very very safe when it comes to the internet, i always do a virus scan every few days, i sometimes change my passwords but i have been using the same password for about 7 years, i was stupid enough to download something from youtube (in the description bar) it was some cleaner thing for files.

Anyway, i logged onto my gmail which i pretty much use for everything like paypal, moneybookers and some online games.

When i looked in my bin on gmail i found emails from paypal and moneybookers saying an attempt to change my password have been made, i tried to logon to some of my online games and 3 out of the 5 i play the passwords had been changed (including the security questions etc) and its a nightmare to prove that those account are mine, im currently sending information to each one.

My steam account was accessed from another computer but i was lucky enough to change my passwords for that.

Facebook is fine but i still changed my password just incase, ill have to change my password for here also.

How can people do this?, i'm also worried because they might have my name and address because it shows up in google.

What should i do? i've deleted the file in question but i hear they install the file in hidden places?

Should i format my hard drive just incase?

Thanks

Re: Victim of keylogging

Firstly, change any remaining passwords but DO NOT DO THIS on the infected key logged machine as you may just be logging more passwords for them.
Then run a Malwarebytes scan.

Secondly if Malwarebytes has found a lot of stuff then backup all your important files and reformat. A total clean out is worth doing for peace of mind.

Re: Victim of keylogging

You could be.

I would still run a few more antivirus tools, check your startup programs and also run hijackthis to check what is running.
