My online bank wants me to use an outdated browser!

Hi all,

I had trouble accessing my online bank account since updating to Firefox 6 so contacted them (bear in mind this is an 'online only' bank!).

This is the response I got from them:
"We know this works with the two browsers that we formally support, Internet Explorer and Netscape. We understand that Firefox 1.0 works fine too and may add this to our list of supported browsers in the future. We recommend that you continue to use these particular browsers."

So my bank's solution is to use Netscape or Firefox 1.0??! Basically I guess I can access my bank account but pretty much most other popular sites on the net will barely work!
Isn't it more logical for an online bank to ensure compatibility with the latest browsers for its customer base?

Does anyone else find that a little bit of an odd response?

I could try Chrome, I have it installed but generally only use it to test sites as another browser. I think Chrome might be way to advanced for them as well
It's Cahoot by the way

I'd go back with another message to the bank giving them a few general tips about the Internet, browsers and online banking. They obviously need some advice and guidance. Worrying that their knowledge and support is lagging so much behind the times.
