Youtube - some videos not playing?

Does anyone else get varied performance with Youtube videos? I really don't know if it's PC/browser or ISP related or an issue with Youtube but some videos load fine, the bar goes across and they play instantly. Other videos are extremely slow/buffering loads or just don't play at all.

Here's one as an example:

I tried it in Firefox, it doesn't even start playing so I tried it in Internet Explorer 6 and it played for a second after about 30 seconds of waiting then didn't play at all.

I'm using Windows XP SP3, my gf gets the same issues with her netbook with Windows 7 and Firefox

Can anyone else load the above video?

I don't know what I can test, I can ping youtube fine, tracerts seem fine. I did a speed test on Youtube by right clicking on the video and the results were above average for my ISP and area...

Any ideas at all?

Loads n plays the full 2.28 here..

Windows 7, FF 5.0

Thanks Wayfair, I've tried refreshing loads, clearing cache everything and keep having issues with certain vids on youtube. Other people in my area are also complaining on the VM forums about browsing performance issues, it might be ISP related in my area possibly if the video does play.

Just tried it with IE9, same results as FF, sorry I couldn't help you more..

I just tried it at someone's house with Sky Broadband and it loads fine as well. It does have an ad at the start, wonder if that could have anything to do with it...?
Normally I can play vids ok with ads at the start and I wondered if it might be Opendns that's blocking it as I have it configured to block a few categories...

Will try accessing it at work tomorrow and see if it works

If you right-click on a YouTube video you can 'Show Video Info' to see what it is doing.
Also, try dropping the quality down if you have problems.

Strange, it's playing absolutely fine now. It loaded up quickly, the grey bar went across in seconds. I did also report it to Youtube as a video that wouldn't play, maybe they had some diagnostic info or VM noticed my post on their forum. I'm hoping other Youtube videos I had trouble with will now play ok...

Thanks Acathla, I tried that and it didn't seem to be downloading any data on http at all. It was set to play on the lowest video quality (380p) although I didn't get chance until now to try it on lower flash quality specifically but now it's playing fine anyway.
I'll just have to see how things go.
