Re: Tesco trials free wifi in four shops.
My question is why? Is 3G reception in their stores really that bad?

Dunno ... is it really that bad in all the branches of McDonalds and Starbucks that offer free WiFi?
It's just another one of those things a shop can use to get people in the door and keep them inside as long as possible. Fair play to them.

I personally agree , I would much sooner use WiFi than patchy 3G.

Well at least there you are sat down eating/drinking something, and not in charge of a trolley where you shouldn't really be distracted

The Tesco near me has a cafe.
In any event, I'd rather use the wifi and keep my limited 'unlimited' 3g data allowance.

Re: Tesco trials free wifi in four shops.
Same here. Although the only time I ever go in our local Tesco is to use the cafe while waiting for the garage next door to do my tyres or whatever. So free WiFi would be ideal.

As long as its better than MacDonalds.
Plus how would a mobile work? As on my laptop I had to keep a login window open to keep the connection.

Re: Tesco trials free wifi in four shops.
I predict a lot of competition for the parking spaces nearest the store.
