Our domain name is redirecting to the .com version
Hi.
We have recently registered a .co.uk domain name.
Before we registered it, we noticed that typing it into the address bar automatically redirected you to the .com version which is owned by someone else.
Now we own it is still redirecting.
We haven't put our website online yet but thought that this will either stop it happening or show that there is a problem to sort out.
Re: Our domain name is redirecting to the .com version
If the website isn't online/parked or the DNS entry hasn't yet propagated then most browsers will automatically look for the dot com version of the same name. So there's nothing you can do to stop that behaviour until you get the website up and running.
Re: Our domain name is redirecting to the .com version
have you uploaded your website yet?
if not, just upload an index file that says "website under construction", then you can see if it is still directing to the .com domain. it might be the DNS your using on your computer that is re-directing you i.e. the virgin advanced search thing
