What to do with a domain?

Long story short, my uncle started a website for English football statistics.

A site for....- English football league player statistics.

The site was created and he started inputting the data for it, then just....gave up with it

So the domain expired and the data was going to be deleted from the host, as he hadn't paid the hosting bill for the past 10 months (oops! heh)

I reregistered the domain and convinced the host to send me the data

So now I'm wondering what to do with it

The site in question is - http://www.soccerfacts.org/

(I have no idea why he chose "Soccer" as the name :P)

It seems to have quite a lot of data inputted about players and the like, but I have no idea if it's worth anything

Any ideas?

re: What to do with a domain?

Before the "is it saleable" question, the question needs to be "Is there any information here that can't be gotten from any other (free or paid) sources?"

If so, then the site probably isn't worth anything, especially if the data is freely available.

Re: What to do with a domain?

Title changed to reflect that this is not a for sale thread

In my viewpoint all the domains that were worth anything got snatched up many years ago. The .org domains are worth less than .coms/.nets but if you want to see if you can sell the domain then put a for sale sign on it with a contact address. If someone wants it then they'll keep an eye on it (to see if it's de-registered or up for sale) but there are millions and millions of domains up for sale round the world with very few of them worth much at all..

---------- Post added at 14:30 ---------- Previous post was at 14:20 ----------

One thing you should be aware of is that the site is just repeating what a lot of sites have for free and are findable directly from google, also the stats on the website itself are virtually nil which means that the domain is worth currently only what someone would pay for the name, if they wanted it..
