XML Sitemap

Hi guys, we have been up and running a few months on the net now and our site developers have said about doing an XML sitemap.

What will this bring to my business?
Is it worth paying them £200 or can it be done by myself?

Kind Regards
Ryan

Re: XML Sitemap

Sitemap can be done for nothing, lots of sitemap apps out there which will create sitemaps even for dynamic content.. All you have to do is submit the static or dynamic map to the search engines..

Is the site php (if so which software) or html?

Re: XML Sitemap

I have run a xml creator http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/details-...aby.co.uk.html
and it is now asking me to upload the file to "public_html/" folder of your site then submit the file to Google.
Can I upload this to my site using the back end?

Re: XML Sitemap

Just FTP it to the sites root directory (the public_html).. In the end it's just a file..

I'll ask again though is your site just HTML or dynamic (php/asp) and if dynamic then which software?
