Google Search Update
Has anyone noticed a change when searching on google?
Soon as you start typing it will load the search automaticly, with the first letter, and as you start typing more words that search will load up instantly, the page doesn't even refresh.

Re: Google Search Update
You mean the suggested search when you type it gives you a list of possibilities? If so it's been doing that for a long time

Re: Google Search Update
I haven't seen it myself but I know Google is experimenting with real time results, that is where results of a web search will appear as you type underneath the search box, for a few weeks now.

Reminds me of the Sony Bravia advert.

Re: Google Search Update
That was what i was talking about the streaming results, i liked the way they results appeared instantly but i didn't really like the way the results appeared when you start typing.

Re: Google Search Update
Not sure I see the advantage, at least for me
But hard to say, wouldn't be the first time I pooh poohed an idea, to later think it is the best thing since sliced bread (no bread actually being sliced)

Re: Google Search Update
I've yet to be convinced that the gain of 2.5 seconds per search is worth the extra network bandwidth used. Bandwidth used is not significant for a small amount of searches, but the saved time would not be significant either.
For a large amount of searches there could be significant amounts of bandwidth used. It's also worth remembering that the kind of people who who use google enough to benefit from this are likely to learn how to produce efficient searches anyway, which further lessens the usfulness of this service.
