Using PHP on my NTL homepage

If this is not the right place for my question, please let me know.

I want to use PHP on my "...homepage.ntlworld..." but my test script indicates that PHP is not active on my root dir on the VM server.

A trawl of VM help pages indicates that PHP is available but the texts cover all the variants (NTL VM Blueyonder etc) without specific detail. The link:
http://help2.virginmedia.com/help/ge..._pwp_tools_php
refers, but does not seem to apply to "ntlworld" user configuration.

For many weeks I have been trying to get information from VM Customer Services but they only reply with boilerplate text from their FAQs which has no connection with my question(s) (apart from including the keyword "PHP").

Sooo - can I use PHP on my NTLworld Broadband size: M free webspace ?
If so, is there a separate dir for PHP scripts ?
Do I need some magic word to some VM operative to activate this facility ?

Grateful thanks for any help.

Re: Using PHP on my NTL homepage

Nope NTLWorld server does not support PHP those VM pages I think are just ripped off of the old Telewest (Blueyonder) server with a new logo. Your best bet is to get some good, cheap web space, check out www.hostforweb.com and remember its about $2/£1

Thanks a million Zeph.
I have to say that you're marginally faster than VM Customer support ...
! minute solved - as opposed to six weeks and still counting.

Cheers

That's very kind of you Richard.
As my stuff is "education related - school stuff" the Local Authority have also offered some free web space.
So I'm spoiled for choice !

Regards and many thanks.

You'd better ask em if they support PHP, you can't take that as a given

Re: Using PHP on my NTL homepage

They do PHP (and MySQL) as a low cost option.
The school will probably pay the few coppers if I create db facilities that they can use.
