search engine submission/optimization

Good day all.

Just wondering if anyone had used a search engine submission optimisation service for a website they own/work for.

Im wondering if such a move is worth the money (as all the spam emails would lead me to think)

So im looking for some first hand experience from any CF users.

Personally I've never used any SEO service. I've used the best I can Titles, Meta Taga & thats all. 1 site I did was quoted £3k+ for SEO. But after a few weeks of my edits & links to & from high end sites its listed on page 1 of Goggle (top 3)

Few good pointers that have helped me get reasonably high

Use keywords only in your Tittle and not company name
Use keywords on forums and link back, this will help up your ranks slightly.
Dont over do it with the keywords
Make the first image on your page the name of your primary keyword i.e ukwebhosting.gif
Use all your Alt Tags on Images
In the footer put your primary keywords.
Use keyword specific text

Plsu loads loads loads more!

A lot of that info is old, and would not work with the rules that search engines use these days.

Never heard of that one before, and can't think why it would help at all.
Also cannot think of websites I visit that do not have their name in the title, would be silly not to.

huh? I dont have a website - yet used to, not now though

Prooven fact that Keywords in the footer assist the google bot in scanning.
The title one, worked a treat for me. Got me first page - 2nd so must of done something! Pages used to have page rank 3, 4 & 5

The other one here is to reverse the title.
NOT Company Name : Category : Product
BUT Product : Category : Company Name

Use words in your URL names. Look at the how the URL names on this forum are now modified to improve SEO.

What do you want the site to do. Many site software packages have SEO optimisers for not much money.
