Mick I think you are being a tad hard on Maggy and not really understanding what she is getting at.

Those of us who contribute to the thread are all pleased, I am sure, by our City's rise up the rankings but as we rise higher and the gaps we have to scale get larger, a continual count report could get a little boring and cut down the numbers of members making return visits.

@ Maggy. Don't back off, there aren't that many posters on this tread who come out to play and I would look silly playing on my own.

No I am not understanding what she is getting at - this is a contest based off rankings so there is a room for discussing countdowns to the top.

At the end of the day it is not against the rules to be discussing positions so there should have been no request to stop the countdowns it is part and parcel of the topic.

OK Mick. If the thread is predominately just about stats and rankings I guess I'll be backing off as well.

I never said it was and I've not posted as a moderator in this thread..I merely made a private observation that I thought that the thread was in danger of becoming tedious if we just stuck to a countdown..After all the Football thread is not just about points and league tables but about the magic and majesty and politics of the game...and honest opinions..

As a point of interest... We still have not got any buildings with clocks on

Although we d have quite a few L shaped yellow ones now (perhaps this is where the broccoli flowers are allowed to open)

I think you 2 should stay with this thread and continue to click and watch our city grow, remember I am a rather new member and poster to this thread and realise that every click however achieved helps our city grow and we need our Head Teacher and Head Brassica grower to stay with us for the long haul ahead as we slow in our climb up the rankings

Now that is not what I said - I never said it was just about the stats and rankings. But at the same time people should be able to give an update on where we are as I am sure not only others do, but I like to know without keep going to the front page of this thread - So the stats being regularly updated are relevant as far as I am concerned.

I am resigned to us never seeing a clock tower

but on the bright side at least we aren't stuck at 4 o'clock which is the fate of cities with clocks. </pollyanna mode>

Although we seemed to have a long haul ahead of us to overtake S G C city we have knocked down their lead over us from over 5000 population down to 3848 which isn't bad in just a couple of days.

Oh, and advance notice folks, volunteers are needed next weekend to harvest the last of our sprouts....can't leave them to fester in the fields 'else we'll have toxic clouds threatening our city. There will be a celebration Sprout BBQ when the harvest finishes.
